The Air-Aqua Super UV 25W replacement unit is the complete replacement unit for a suitable Air-Aqua Super UV system. The unit consists of the 25-watt amalgam UV-C lamp, the quartz glass, and a 5-metre cable. The ballast/transformer is not part of this replacement unit.

An important advantage of the Air-Aqua Super UV is that the UV lamp is integrated into the quartz glass and is designed to be waterproof. This means you replace the complete lamp unit at once.

Amalgam UV-C technology

For the Super UV series, Air-Aqua opts for amalgam technology. Compared to traditional fluorescent and standard T5 UV lamps, this technology offers high efficiency and maintains the UV radiation output better throughout its lifespan. An amalgam lamp is also more resistant to switching the lamp on and off.

The UV-C radiation helps reduce suspended algae and microorganisms in the flowing water and thus supports the maintenance of clear pond water.

Long lifespan of 13,000 hours

The 25W amalgam lamp has an average lifespan of approximately 13,000 hours. This amounts to approximately 541 days of continuous use. A specialist supplier therefore advises replacing the lamp approximately every two years.

Even when a UV-C lamp is still visibly lit, the effective UV-C output decreases over time. Timely replacement is therefore important to maintain the performance of the UV-C system.

Complete replacement unit

You do not receive just a lamp. The replacement unit is supplied as a combination of:

25W amalgam UV-C lamp
Quartz glass
5-metre cable

The ballast/transformer is not included. For this Super UV series, a separate Air-Aqua Super UV ballast/transformer for 25-105 watts is available.

Compact 25W version

The 25W replacement unit has a diameter of approximately 25 mm and a length of approximately 25.5 cm. This makes it the compact version within the Air-Aqua Super UV Amalgam series.
