Philips UV-TL 55W – Replacement Lamp for UV-C Units | Powerful UV-C Lamp for Large Pond Systems

The Philips UV-TL 55W is a powerful and reliable UV-C TL replacement lamp with a power output of 55 watts, specially designed for use in larger UV-C units within pond and filter systems. With a length of 906 mm (including pins), this lamp is suitable for UV-C equipment designed for higher flow rates and intensive water treatment.

This lamp emits ultraviolet light within the UV-C spectrum, which effectively damages the DNA of microorganisms such as suspended algae, bacteria, and fungi. This disables these organisms and prevents them from multiplying. The result is clear, healthy pond water without the use of chemicals.

Thanks to its high light output, this lamp is ideal for larger ponds or systems with a high biological load that require additional disinfection power.

Why UV-C?

UV-C units are an essential part of modern pond installations. UV-C light cleans the water without the addition of chemicals and kills suspended algae and pathogens, keeping the water clear and the ecosystem balanced. A properly functioning UV-C lamp prevents cloudy water and supports the health of fish and plants.

Lifespan

The effective lifespan of this UV-C lamp is approximately 8,000 hours, which is about one year under normal use. After this period, the intensity of the UV-C light decreases, even though the lamp remains visually lit. For optimal performance of your UV-C unit, it is therefore recommended to replace the lamp annually, preferably at the beginning of the pond season.
