Tropical Jumbo Carnisticks 182g - Hikari
€24,30
Hikari Tropical Jumbo Carnisticks 182g is specially developed as a daily food for large carnivorous tropical fish. The large floating sticks are designed for fish that naturally eat other fish and larger prey and provide a practical alternative to regularly feeding live food.
The shape, structure and composition of the sticks are tailored to large predatory fish. The food remains floating on the water surface, so that fish that feed mainly at the top of the aquarium can easily find and consume it.
For large carnivorous tropical fish
Jumbo Carnisticks are intended for large carnivorous aquarium fish. The size of the sticks makes the food particularly suitable for fish with a larger mouth.
The food can be used for larger cichlids and other large carnivorous tropical fish species that accept floating food, among others. For every fish species, check whether the size of the food suits the mouth and natural feeding behavior.
Alternative to live food
Many large predatory fish are traditionally fed live feeder fish or other animal-based food. Hikari Jumbo Carnisticks was developed to provide a complete and balanced diet without the need for live food at every feeding.
The use of formulated dry food also makes daily feeding easier to dose. This allows for a more accurate determination of how much food the fish actually receive.
Floating sticks
The Jumbo Carnisticks remain floating on the water surface. This suits the feeding behavior of many large carnivorous aquarium fish that consume their food at or just below the water surface.
Because the food remains floating, it is easy to monitor how much the fish consume during feeding. Uneaten sticks can be easily removed before they unnecessarily affect the water quality.
Structure that mimics prey food
Hikari has developed the sticks so that their structure and shape are attractive to carnivorous fish accustomed to animal-based food.
When the sticks absorb water, they gradually become softer. This makes them easier to consume while maintaining sufficient cohesion during feeding.
With fish meal and krill
The composition is based on animal protein sources suitable for carnivorous fish species. The food contains fish meal and krill meal, among other ingredients.
Krill not only provides nutrients but also contains natural carotenoids such as astaxanthin. These substances can help support the natural color development of the fish.
Nutrient-rich daily composition
Jumbo Carnisticks contains a high proportion of protein and is therefore tailored to large carnivorous fish.
Guaranteed analysis:
Crude protein: minimum 40%
Crude fat: minimum 4%
Crude fiber: maximum 3%
Moisture: maximum 10%
Crude ash: maximum 17%
Phosphorus: minimum 1%
In addition to the main protein and energy sources, the food contains vitamins and minerals required for a complete daily diet.
Suitable as a main food
Hikari Tropical Jumbo Carnisticks can be used as a daily main food for suitable large carnivorous tropical fish.
This makes the food interesting for aquariums where a constant formulated dry food is desired instead of mainly loose feeder animals.
Feeding advice
Feed a small amount two to three times a day. Only give as much as the fish can completely consume within a few minutes.
Observe the fish during feeding. Large carnivorous fish can differ greatly in size, activity, and feeding behavior. Therefore, adjust the amount according to the number of fish and their actual food intake.
Remove leftover food to prevent unnecessary stress on the aquarium water.
Switching from live food
Fish that are exclusively accustomed to live food may not always accept dry food immediately. Such fish may require an adjustment period.
Offer small amounts of Jumbo Carnisticks and give the fish time to get used to the shape, smell, and texture of the food. Once the fish recognize the sticks as food, they can be used as part of the daily feeding routine.
