Also check regularly that the air hose is not kinked or pinched anywhere. The air pump must always be able to discharge its air sufficiently.

Includes 20 mm air stone

The included air stone has a diameter of 20 mm. The air from the pump is distributed through this stone into a large number of small air bubbles.

Place the air stone at a suitable depth in the pond. For this compact air pump, a relatively shallow placement is recommended. Too much water depth creates more backpressure and reduces the air capacity.

For this Mini version, a maximum placement depth of approximately 30 cm is recommended for optimal operation and less strain on the membrane.

Place the air pump dry and above the water level

The air pump itself must not be placed underwater. Place the pump in a dry, well-ventilated location and protect it from moisture.

Preferably place the air pump above the water level. This prevents pond water from easily siphoning back into the pump through the air hose in the event of a power failure or standstill.

If you still want to place the pump below the water level, use a suitable non-return valve in the air hose. This helps prevent water from flowing back into the air pump through the hose.

Water damage caused by an incorrectly placed air pump is not considered normal use and can permanently damage the pump.

Regular checks for a long lifespan

The air stone can become fouled with limescale, algae, and other deposits over time. This increases resistance and can reduce the amount of air flowing through the stone.

Therefore, regularly check that there are still enough air bubbles coming from the air stone. Clean or replace the air stone when the air capacity noticeably decreases.

At the same time, check the air hose for kinks and blockages. An air pump can overheat when the produced air cannot be discharged sufficiently.
