XT-2000 Ozone Generator - Sander

The Sander XT-2000 is a powerful, professional-grade ozone generator for treating water in ponds, freshwater aquariums, and saltwater aquariums. The device produces up to 2,000 mg of ozone per hour and features processor-controlled regulation that allows the ozone production to be precisely set.

With a capacity of up to approximately 40,000 liters in freshwater and 20,000 liters in saltwater, the XT-2000 is intended for larger and more heavily loaded water systems. The ozone generator is combined with a suitable ozone reactor or skimmer to effectively bring the produced ozone into contact with the water.

Maximum 2,000 mg of ozone per hour

When using dry air, the XT-2000 has a maximum net ozone production of 2,000 mg per hour. The desired production is continuously adjustable from 0 to 100%, so the amount of ozone can be tailored to the installation.

The actual ozone production also depends on the humidity. According to Sander, the production in normal room air with a relative humidity of approximately 40 to 80% can be about 50% lower than in dry air.

Touch display for precise operation

The front of the XT-2000 is equipped with a large display. Important operating data can be viewed on it, and the desired ozone production can be set.

The device displays both the airflow and the set ozone production. The ozone production can easily be increased or decreased via the controls.

Suitable for ponds and aquariums

The Sander XT-2000 was developed for use in aquariums and ponds. As a guideline, a maximum water volume of approximately 40,000 liters for freshwater and approximately 20,000 liters for saltwater is specified.

However, the actual amount of ozone required depends not only on the water volume. The organic load, fish stocking, amount of feed, water quality, and the reactor or skimmer used also play an important role.

Sander therefore advises determining the ozone requirement based on the redox potential instead of solely on the total water volume.

Connection to a Redox controller

The XT-2000 can be linked to a suitable Sander Redox measuring and control unit. An adapter is included for this purpose.

With redox control, the ozone generator can be automatically switched on and off based on the set redox value. This allows for a controlled application of ozone and prevents relying solely on a manually chosen fixed ozone production.

Airflow from 50 to 1,000 liters per hour

The XT-2000 operates with an airflow of approximately 50 to 1,000 liters per hour. The device has connections for 6/8 mm air hose.

When the airflow decreases, the device automatically reduces the available ozone production. This protects the ozone element from overheating.

The ozonator can be combined with a skimmer or suitable ozone reactor. In a system with an injector, the air is drawn into the device. Sander specifies that the device must exclusively be used in vacuum operation.

Effectively introducing ozone into the water

Ozone must not be blown directly into the pond or aquarium without a suitable reactor. The produced ozone must receive sufficient contact time with the water.

Sander advises introducing the ozone at a depth of approximately 20 cm or deeper in the water and recommends using a suitable skimmer or ozone reactor for this purpose.

An ozone residue destroyer, for example with activated carbon, must be applied to the air outlet of the ozone reactor to break down residual ozone from the outgoing air.

42 watts power consumption

Despite the maximum ozone production of 2,000 mg/h, the XT-2000 has a power consumption of approximately 42 watts.

The included power supply operates at 100-240 V AC at 50/60 Hz. The ozone generator itself operates at 24 V DC.

Maintenance of the ozone element

The ozone element can be cleaned for maintenance. Contamination of the element can reduce ozone production, making periodic inspection important.

For maintenance, the device must be completely disconnected from the power supply. Always follow the instructions in the Sander manual before dismantling and cleaning the ozone element.

Working safely with ozone

Ozone is a powerful oxidizing agent and must be used in a controlled manner. Ozone-containing air is harmful when inhaled. The XT-2000 must therefore exclusively be used within a correctly designed ozone system.

If a noticeable ozone smell is detected, the installation must be checked immediately. Ensure a suitable ozone residue destroyer and sufficient ventilation around the technical installation.

The device itself must not fall into the water or come into contact with water. Therefore, place the XT-2000 in a dry location and according to Sander's installation instructions.

Complete delivery

The XT-2000 is delivered with the required power supply and accessories for the basic installation. The delivery includes the ozonator, power adapter, power cable, adapter for connection to a Sander Redox controller, Allen key, mounting material, and user manual.

A skimmer, ozone reactor, ozone residue destroyer, and any Redox measuring and control equipment must be provided separately depending on the chosen installation.
