CTP 16,000 pond pump - AquaForte

The AquaForte CTP-16.000 is a powerful pond pump for installations that need to move a large volume of water. With a maximum capacity of 16,000 litres per hour, this is one of the more powerful models in the CTP series. The pump is suitable for pond filters, water circulation, stream loops and other water features, among other applications.

The CTP-16.000 combines a high water output with a power consumption of 140 watts. Thanks to its maximum head height of 7.5 metres, the pump can also be used in installations where water needs to be transported across a greater height difference.

Maximum capacity of 16,000 litres per hour

Under optimal conditions, the CTP-16.000 delivers a maximum of 16,000 litres of water per hour. This makes the pump suitable for larger ponds and filter systems where a high flow rate is desired.

The actual water output depends on the installation. Height differences, long pipes, small pipe diameters, bends, couplings and connected filter equipment create resistance and reduce the final capacity.

For the most efficient installation, it is therefore important to use wide pipes and to limit unnecessary resistance as much as possible.

Maximum head height of 7.5 metres

The maximum head height is 7.5 metres. This gives the CTP-16.000 sufficient pressure reserve for applications where water needs to be lifted higher, for example to an above-ground filter system or a higher-level water feature.

The maximum capacity of 16,000 l/h is not achieved at a head height of 7.5 metres. As the head height increases, the effective water output decreases.

Power consumption of 140 watts

The AquaForte CTP-16.000 has a power consumption of 140 watts. Given its maximum water displacement of 16,000 litres per hour, the pump offers a favourable ratio between capacity and power consumption.

This is particularly important for pond installations where the pump is used for extended periods or continuously during the season.

For pond filters and water circulation

Thanks to its high capacity, the CTP-16.000 can be used excellently as a circulation or filter pump. The pump can transport pond water to an external filter system and then continuously ensure circulation through the pond installation.

When using it in combination with a filter, always check how much water the filter system in question can process at most. A pump with an excessively high effective capacity can cause too high a flow rate through the filter.

Also for stream loops and water features

The combination of a high capacity and a maximum head height of 7.5 metres also makes the pump suitable for stream loops and other water features.

In such applications, the final volume of water is largely determined by the height difference and the width of the stream loop or outlet. Take this into account when designing the installation.

Connection options

The CTP-16.000 has connection options of 1", 1¼", 1½" and 2", corresponding to approximately 25, 32, 38 and 50 mm.

For this powerful model, it is recommended to use a wide hose or pipe diameter wherever possible. A 50 mm pipe creates considerably less resistance than a smaller hose when large volumes of water are being pumped.

Ceramic shaft and synchronous motor

The pump is equipped with a ceramic shaft and a synchronous motor. The ceramic shaft is wear-resistant and suitable for long-term use in water.

The CTP-16.000 operates at 220-240 V / 50 Hz and is designed for long-term water circulation.

Compact housing

Despite its maximum capacity of 16,000 litres per hour, the pump has a relatively compact housing. The dimensions are approximately 208 × 138 × 158 mm.

This means the pump can also be used in technical setups where a high pump capacity is desired, but the available space is limited.

5-metre connection cable

The CTP-16.000 is equipped with a 5-metre connection cable. This provides some flexibility when positioning the pump relative to the electrical connection.

Always use electrical equipment in a pond according to the applicable safety regulations and completely switch off the power supply before performing maintenance on the pump.

Maintenance

A high water output can only be maintained when the pump and water supply are clean. Therefore, regularly check the pump for leaves, filamentous algae, sludge and other debris.

If the capacity noticeably decreases, check both the pump and the connected pipes and the filter system. A dirty rotor, clogged intake openings or a dirty pipe can significantly reduce the water output.
