Aquaclear UV 9W service kit - SuperFish

The AquaClear UV 9W Service Kit - SuperFish is a maintenance and repair kit for the SuperFish AquaClear UV 9W. This kit allows important components of the UV-C unit to be replaced when they become worn, contaminated, or damaged during use.

This means that if these components wear out, the entire AquaClear UV 9W does not need to be replaced immediately. The service kit is particularly practical for periodic maintenance, for example when the UV-C unit is opened for inspection or lamp replacement.

Specially for the AquaClear UV 9W

This service kit was specifically developed for the SuperFish AquaClear UV 9W. The AquaClear series consists of different models and wattages. It is therefore important to check before ordering whether the existing UV-C unit is indeed the 9-watt version.

In addition, there are different generations of the AquaClear UV 9W. SuperFish distinguishes between an older red version and a newer green version. A separate service kit is available for both generations.

Therefore, check not only the wattage, but also the version of the existing AquaClear UV 9W before ordering the service kit.

For periodic maintenance

During use, aquarium water flows through the AquaClear UV unit. The UV-C lamp is protected inside the unit and separated from the water by quartz glass.

This quartz glass plays an important role in the operation of the system. Dirt and limescale deposits can build up on the glass over time. Therefore, it is advisable to check the quartz glass during periodic maintenance and carefully clean it if necessary.

The seals also deserve attention. O-rings and other sealing components can wear out, deform, or dry out after prolonged use. When a seal is no longer in good condition, it must be replaced before the AquaClear is reassembled.

Service kit instead of a complete new UV-C

When the housing, transformer, and other main components of the AquaClear UV 9W are still functioning properly, it is not always necessary to replace the entire UV-C unit.

With a suitable service kit, maintenance-sensitive components can be replaced individually. SuperFish also supplies other individual spare parts for the AquaClear UV 9W, including the housing and transformer.

This means that in the event of a defect or maintenance, it can first be determined which component actually needs to be replaced.

Red and green version

With the AquaClear UV 9W, the generation of the unit is important. SuperFish distinguishes two versions:

The red version is intended for the older generation AquaClear UV 9W.

The green version is intended for the newer generation AquaClear UV 9W.

These service kits are separate spare parts. Therefore, check the version of the existing unit and choose the corresponding service kit. Checking only the power of 9 watts is not sufficient.

Perform maintenance safely

Always switch off both the AquaClear UV and the connected water circulation before carrying out work. Remove the plugs from the socket and ensure that there is no longer any water pressure on the unit before it is opened.

Carefully check the quartz glass for limescale deposits, dirt, cracks, and other damage. Damaged quartz glass must not be reused.

In addition, check the seals and ensure that they are clean and correctly in place before the unit is reassembled. After assembly, it is advisable to first start the water circulation and carefully check the connections and housing for leaks.

Never switch on the UV-C lamp when it is placed outside the closed AquaClear housing. UV-C radiation can be harmful to the eyes and skin.

UV-C lamp not included

The AquaClear UV 9W Service Kit is a maintenance kit and does not automatically include a new 9-watt UV-C lamp. When the lamp also needs to be replaced, it must be ordered separately.

The complete AquaClear UV 9W uses a 9-watt UV-C lamp. When ordering a replacement lamp, also check whether it is suitable for the AquaClear UV 9W.
