Explanation of the use of Nite Out II and the start-up of the nitrification process:

It is recommended to first use Microbe-Lift Clean & Clear before using Nite Out II to break down the remaining organic waste, because high concentrations of this organic waste can limit or even completely stop the nitrification process. Wait 1 to 2 days to let Clean & Clear do its work and then use Nite Out II. Furthermore, it is very important that you first test the pH (it must be between 7.5 and 8.7) and whether there is sufficient alkalinity present (temporary hardness or KH). The KH value must always be at least 3 mg/l (ppm). This is very important because the nitrifying bacteria use this as fuel. For 1 part ammonia, 7 parts alkalinity are consumed! Without a good KH value, nitrification is therefore not possible! To increase the KH value, you can use AquaForte BioStabil, for example, until you have reached a value of > 3 mg/l.
