Betta Bio-Gold has a pellet size of approximately 1.1 to 1.4 mm. The compact size is tailored to the relatively small mouth of a betta.

The pellets remain afloat on the water's surface. This aligns well with the natural feeding behavior of bettas and has the practical advantage that you can see exactly how much food is being eaten. This makes it easier to give small portions and prevent overfeeding.

For very small bettas, an even smaller pellet size may be more suitable.

Unlike general tropical fish food, Betta Bio-Gold is specifically formulated with the nutritional needs of bettas as a starting point.

An important protein source is fish meal. The food also contains krill meal, soy meal, wheat germ, brewer's yeast, and fish oil, among other ingredients. The combination provides a complete nutritional profile suitable for daily use.

Various vitamins and minerals have also been added, including stabilized vitamin C and vitamin E.

With spirulina and astaxanthin

Easy, targeted feeding

For a betta approximately 3.8 to 4.4 cm in body length—measured from the nose to the base of the tail, so without the fins—Hikari recommends approximately three pellets per feeding, up to a maximum of three times a day. As the fish grows, the amount can be adjusted, although Hikari recommends not giving more than five pellets per feeding.

Feed pellet by pellet and check that the food is actually being eaten. Remove any uneaten food and prevent chronic overfeeding, as food scraps can degrade water quality.
